Put a LIFT in Your Career! Hyster-Yale Group, (HYG), a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has a number of outstanding opportunities for APPRENTICES – ENGINEERING (FABRICATION AND WELDING) at our facility located in Craigavon, Northern Ireland.

HYG designs, engineers, manufactures, sells, and services a comprehensive line of lift trucks and aftermarket parts marketed globally under the Hyster and Yale brand names. We are one of the global leaders in the Material Handling industry and have been building relationships and partnering with our customers, suppliers, dealers, and employees for over 80 years.

We bring over 236 different products to the market, ranging from the smallest pallet truck to 48 tonne container handling trucks.

At Hyster-Yale we have extensive experience delivering Apprenticeship programmes. Successful applicants will ‘earn as they learn’ and benefit from a blend of on-the-job development, guided by a well-established team along with day release to attend Southern Regional College to complete an ENGINEERING (FABRICATION AND WELDING) Level 2 Diploma Apprenticeship.

The successful applicants will work under the guidance of experienced fabricators and welders, learning to measure and mark out materials, use cutting and shaping equipment, assemble and join metal components, and perform welding operations. They will develop proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding machines, and other metalworking equipment.

Applicants must:

• Meet admissions criteria, apply for and successfully obtain a conditional offer (proceeding to a firm offer in due course) for an ENGINEERING (FABRICATION AND WELDING) Level 2 Diploma Apprenticeship at Southern Regional College, starting September 2024

• Possess a minimum grade C in GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent), obtained by August 2024.

• Demonstrate a keen interest in Engineering, use of initiative, team working and communication skills and enjoy a practical approach to learning and development.
