Position Summary
Under general supervision, the Apprenticeship Coordinator position will be responsible for identifying, coordinating, and/or delivering technical training in support of all Grant PUD apprenticeship programs. This role will be responsible for designing and delivering curriculum and oversight of all Related Supplemental Instruction (RSI) for each apprenticeship within Grant PUD. This role entails collaborating with various technical experts within the apprenticed crafts to deliver training in accordance with guidelines as set forth by the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council (WSATC), federal law.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Develop, coordinate, and implement RSI curriculum to meet Grant PUD’s Apprenticeship Program goals and course outlines for each registered apprenticeship program.
Collaborate with the employee experience department, technical experts, and business unit leadership on apprentice training, development, and program enhancements; in accordance with guidelines as set forth by the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council (WSATC), federal law (29 U.S.C 50), federal regulations (29 CFR Part 29 & 30), state law (49.04 RCW) and administrative rules (WAC 296-05) guaranteeing that all apprentices receive the required training, support, and guidance to accomplish apprenticeship program (RSI) requirements.
Identify, document & deliver appropriate technical training in coordination with internal subject matter experts.
Guide the evaluation and updating of work processes associated with Grant PUD’s apprenticeship programs to ensure accuracy, adherence, and relevance.
Perform audits and verify training documentation & record accuracy. Conduct quality control audits to test integrity of internal training standards, records, and job aids.
Establish regular monthly meetings with internal technical experts and craft supervision to ensure continuous program administration alignment with program standards.
Monitor and assess the apprentices’ progress, delivering feedback and support to ensure successful program completion.
Provide support to supervisors to ensure apprentice rotation between crews occurs based on step progression requirements.
Development of standard job aids and on the job (OJT) forms/checklists to ensure greater consistency in apprentice training and development.
Oversee the development and consistent administration of apprentice field exams, and step progression testing.
Develop and interpret standards of administrative policy/procedure documents and effectively provide training and clarity for personnel; ensure all training documents display correct and accurate compliance and regulations material; facilitate meetings and training events to keep all employees up to date and compliant.
Stay updated on changes in apprenticeship policy, regulations, and L&I apprenticeship standards.

Understand and adhere to compliance requirements for this position that may include laws, regulations, security guidelines, Grant PUD policies & procedures.
Foster open communication with key stakeholders.
May operate a district vehicle.
Actively participate in all aspects of our safety program, including but not limited to:
Following all safety policies and procedures.
Alerting supervisors and coworkers to unsafe or hazardous working conditions.
Reporting any safety incidents or close calls within 8 hours to your supervisor.
Accepting feedback from supervisors and coworkers regarding your own safety performance.
Required Qualifications (Education, Experience, Licenses & Certifications):
Bachelor's degree in HR, Organizational Development, Learning & Development, OR 2 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
One (1) year experience in administering similar project or programs focusing on technical training.
A valid State driver’s license with no driving restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, Licenses & Certifications):
Demonstrated knowledge of apprenticeship program regulations and policies.
Background in working with skilled trades
Demonstrated experience in administering skills-based education or adult training programs.
Completion of a registered apprenticeship within a utility craft.
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Experience in the Electric utility industry
General knowledge of utility operations
Knowledge of Washington state electrical worker safety rules and regulations
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams both inside and outside of Grant PUD
Strong aptitude for project management and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while remaining organized
Ability to develop and adhere to a documented work plan
